Just a thought. This is a linux server, right? So you have linux LVM. I think it should be possible to make a consistent snapshot using MariaDB and LVM. Then you can backup the snapshot and in case of a disaster restore that. Now, I’ve never attempted this, and I don’t know how to do it, but it seems to be the only viable acceptable solution.
