Hi Robert My suggestion is that overwrite=yes won't make much difference.
You still have to mount the tape to write the label, so an extra read and rewind is nothing. Personally I always let it default to overwrite=no unless I know I need overwrite=yes. Less chance of accidents that way - such as specifying the wrong volume range and overwriting something you really wanted.
