One thing I know about from 3.1 that will cause problems on 3.7 and 4.1 for a CLIENT
is the FSTYPES in dsm.opt. This is no longer used and will cause a DR. Watson. I
think there maybe one or 2 other obsolete variables that can cause problem. Probably
as a Server also.

Hi ,

About 3 weeks ago we made the upgrade from ADSM 3.1.2.90 to TSM Server
4.1.3 on a Win NT 4.0 - Build 1381: SP6.
The Server is a IBM Netfinity 5500 with 2 procs:
          0: x86 Family 6 Model 5 Stepping 2 GenuineIntel ~398 Mhz
          1: x86 Family 6 Model 5 Stepping 2 GenuineIntel ~398 Mhz

and 512 MB RAM

The TSM DB is in 88% for 16 GB space allocated.

About 4 times per week, the TSM Server Service down with a Dr. Watson
Message.

After this, I can see 3 message in the applications logs from the NT Event
Viewer (in the tsm act logs nothing abnormal). :

I)
TSM Server Diagnostic: ANR9999D: ADSM Exception: file=pkthread.c,
line=1882, Code=c0000005, Address=13c33b4| Attempt to read data at address
18~

II)
The library file ""dsmcperf.dll"" specified for the "TSM Client Perfomance"
service could not be opened. Perfomance data for this service wiil not be
available. Status code is data DWORD 0.

III)
The application, dsmsrv.dbg, generated an application error The error
ocurred on 4/25/2001 @ 1: 8:19.437 The exception generated was c0000005 at
address 013c33b4 [<nosymbols>]

Anyone know how resolve this problem ?

what about upgrage the NT to Win2000 ?

Thanks very much in advance...
