You can't use the tape number and search at the same time....
use
checkin libv 3494lib labels=b checkin=scratch search=bulk overwrite=yes
then q req and put the tape in the bulk to check in...
reply to the req

Subject: Checkin tape/Label tape
I'm having a problem with 2 tapes that don't seem to have a label, or are
bad. I checked one out and am trying to get in back in the library, while
checking the label. Here is what I've done:
checkout libv 3494lib U00954 remove=no
checkin libv 3494lib U00954 search=yes checkl=yes devt=3590 status=scratch
I get the following error when using this command:
ANR2020E CHECKIN LIBVOLUME: Invalid parameter - SEARCH
So I issue this:
checkin libvol 3494lib U00954 devt=3590 status=scratch checklabel=yes
And I get this:
02/26/01 10:11:06 ANR0984I Process 25 for CHECKIN LIBVOLUME started in
the BACKGROUND at 10:11:06.
02/26/01 10:11:06 ANR8422I CHECKIN LIBVOLUME: Operation for library
3494LIB started as process 25.
02/26/01 10:11:06 ANR0609I CHECKIN LIBVOLUME started as process 25.
02/26/01 10:11:06 ANR8319I 002: Insert volume U00954 R/W into library
3494LIB within 60 minute(s).
02/26/01 10:13:39 ANR8335I 002: Verifying label of 3590 volume U00954 in
drive RMT1 (/dev/rmt1).
02/26/01 10:14:08 ANR8353E 002: I/O error reading label of volume in
drive RMT1 (/dev/rmt1).
If I do this:
LABEL libvol 3494lib U00954 devt=3590 checkin=scratch search=yes
labelsource=barcode overwrite=yes
I get this:
02/26/01 10:19:20 ANR2020E LABEL LIBVOLUME: Invalid parameter - SEARCH.
So I issue this without the search parameter:
LABEL libvol 3494lib U00954 devt=3590 checkin=scratch labelsource=barcode
overwrite=yes
And I get this:
02/26/01 10:19:30 ANR8812E LABEL LIBVOLUME: The SEARCH parameter is
required when using LABELSOURCE with this command.
How can I get this in the library while checking the label, and writing a
new one, if it doesn't have one?
What a pain in the rear this is just to get a tape in and labeled.......
