Stefan,
I have seen these errors before in Informix & Oracle TDP environments:
actually, I was getting the same socket #
(4294967295)and (sessRecvVerb: Error -50 from call to 'readRtn').
>From a first look, I believe that you are getting these timeout errors due
to the application or due to the network/TCPIP. A quick and dirty remedy to
this problem is to increase the commtimeout parameter in your server.
Now is set to 15 minutes (900), set it to either 20 (1200) or 30 (1800).
You don't have to have to recycle TSM, just do a >setopt commtimeout 1800
. Also you can check the network (dropped pockets ? etc.) or at the
application level (Exchange) to see why you are getting a delay of more
than 15 minutes, and if is correctable...
Cheers.

Subject: TCP Session lost during restore
During Restore of a large File (30GB Exchange DB - production) the client
(3.7.2.01 and 3.7.2.17) gets the following error in the errorlog:
(Server 3.7.3.8 @ OS/390)
02/20/2001 12:24:05 sessRecvVerb(): Invalid verb received.
02/20/2001 12:24:05 sessRecvVerb(): length=0000, verb=26,magic=00
02/20/2001 12:24:05 TcpFlush: Error 10038 sending data on Tcp/Ip socket
4294967295.
02/20/2001 12:24:05 sessRecvVerb: Error -50 from call to 'readRtn'.
02/20/2001 12:24:05 ANS1809E Session is lost; initializing session reopen
procedure.
02/20/2001 12:24:20 ANS1810E TSM session has been reestablished.
A test restore in the same environment (NT 4 Server, SP6a, Madge ATM,
3.7.2.01) some weeks ago did not show this problem.
A test over Tokenring (instead of ATM on the same machine) had the same
problem.
