I see a lot of posts on this message. I had to add one.

You saw the benefit of collocating the offsite pool for a DR test. Yet if
you had a real DR you don't need that same benefit. I hope you didn't set
any expectations at your test. You may now have users that think you would
be able to recover much quicker should a real DR happen.

I'm not a big proponent of collocating all the offsite pools. I do think
that critical nodes (ones that need to be up within a few hours) have their
data copied to collocated copy pools. I can tell you that tape contention
at a DR site can bring restores to their knees.

Collocation was enabled on copypool tapes , for Disaster recovery
purpose,
by doing this we was able to
restore much faster at DR site .
Now i don`t need that , and also don`t want to send " DLT`s=no.clients "
every
day to offsite , This is the reason
i want to delete copypool tapes set collocation=no on copypool , and
issue
backup stgpool tapepool=copypool .

Thanks .

I seldom delete a volume unless the volume is part of my offsite secondary
copy
pool and is affected by orphan references withing the TSM data base. In that
case, I need to get this volume returned onsite and do an audit volume
and then delete it. Otherwise, after expiration, TSM automatically deletes
volumes as required by reclamation from
my storage pools. I see no reason to ever delete all volumes within a
copypool.
Why are you doing this, anyway?

I deleted one by one ..But don`t you feel that there should be a command
to
delete volumes by
storage pool name ? Hope will get in TSM5 :- )

Thanks
Shekhar .

Shekhar, Do a: h del vol and you will see that specifiying the storagepool
name
is not an option. I don't believe that there is a command to delete volumes
from a specific storage pool.
