Ruud,
I did not see a much impact from the TSM server side trace. I did see a
tremendous throughput impact from the client side trace running on a NT
node.

I found the documentation at the following locations;
TSM server:
http://www.tivoli.com/support/storage_mgt/adsm/pubs/v3pubs/aix/html/adsmtrf/
cp5ect16.htm

TSM client:
http://www.tivoli.com/support/storage_mgr/pubs/v4pubs/v1_html/aix/trfc/anst0
007.htm

Good luck,

Subject: trace facility on OS/390

L&g

Has anyone ever used the Server Trace Facility ??
If so:
* Does it have a lot of impact on performance ?
* Where can I find documentation on (aggregate) trace classes and
what's more important their meaning/description ?
* what classes to specify in case of diagnosing performance problems
due to high cpu consumption and/or time-out errors during backup/archive

thanks.
