maintenance window/database backup

New to the TSM environment,,,so thanks for the forum and thanks in advance
for any assistance.
We have a maintenance window carved out roughly between 14:00 and 18:00.
Maintenance to our storage environment next week, which facilitates a TSM
down
between those hours. Should I perform that DB-BACKUP prior to the 14:00 HALT

or run the DB-BACKUP after I bring the system back up?
