If you install the new 4.1.2 version of the base client
(storage agent and TSM API) then you will be able to do
LAN Free backups with TDP for SQL today.

I've a customer that thinks this is supported. The README for the current
release suggests not. Does the current TDP for SQL support LAN less
backups
(as the Exchange agent) does or not? If not, anyone have an ETA?
