No, event records are kept for the number of days specified in the SET
EVENTRETENTION. You can view this via Query STatus.
Turns out the previous responses described the issue. I had updated the
schedule before my Q EV report ran. It looks like updating a schedule
removes any event records for it. I left the schedule alone and last nights'
schedule events are in my report.
I learn something every day.

Q EV shows the info for the current day (00:01 - 23:59) only. I ran into
this same problem when I tried to set a 22:00 schedule. You have to schedule
your backups after midnight for them to show up with that command, or
generate output from it after the last schedule has run for the day.
