Yes, you sound lost!

I strongly recommend before proceeding much further that you consider a TSM
class. TSM is similar to CAM in the sense that you use Stager disk in both.
But from there the similarities end and TSM is completely different beast.
Your frustration level is going to increase dramatically without better
understanding.

The simple answer is yes, you can have two different policies: one for data
and one for DBs. There are a couple of ways of handling this: one Policy
Domain with two Managment classes or two Policy Domains. If you have two
types of data on one client (likely) then you will use one Domain and two
classes.

Short plug: SSSI is offering the Level 1 class next week in Colorado
Springs. We'd love to have you! Level 2 class is the week after next.

Subject: 1 server with two policys?

Hello all,
I am trying to get some more interesting servers setup on our new
TSM 4.1 system. (TSM is new to our site, we are getting rid of STKs CAM
system). I am dealing with an RS6000 with DB2 on it. Most of the data for
the server should have an entirely different backup schedule and data
retention schedule than the DB2 data bases. Can I have this server defined
to two differenet POLICIES? Do I have to give it two differenet names? I
am kind of lost with it. Any help would be appreciated.
Matt
