3590 Define error

Hello,

i have two new IBM 3590-B1A drives but they don't work...

adsm> define drive 3494LIB 3590_3 device=/dev/rmt3
ANR8420E DEFINE DRIVE: An I/O error occurred while accessing drive 3590_3.
ANS8001I Return code 3.

Has anyone seend the same problem??
