dsmcsvc.exe - Application Error

I have a client running TSM 3.7.1 on  Windows 2000.  During the backups he
gets the following window to pop up.

This has been an intermittent problem, however this last time he received
the error two days in a row.
Has anyone else had this error and what was the cause and the resolution?
