I think it is a useful document.
Thank you Andy for the effort.
I have put it on my personal website as both PDF (converted with GhostScript
on LINUX) and ZIPped POSTSCRIPT formats.

link to MVS)
If anyone has anything they would like (or links that may be useful) I would
be glad to include them (maybe start a *SM section)

I am sorry you did not find it useful. However, it is not intended
to be a
tutorial, but a reference. I do not know what the cover of the copy
you have
looks like, but I did indicate that it is a work in progress.
Unfortunately
it's been quite some time since I wrote it, and I have yet to find
the time
to get it up to date and add some more stuff.
Background: I was trying to learn SQL myself (the SELECT command),
and had the
idea to write a presentation as I learned. I presented this at the
University
of Karlsruhe's ADSM Symposium in 1998, and again at a subsequent
SHARE. The
presentation was the tutorial part, and as an added "bonus", I
included the
document that you have a copy of. It was/is a "pet project" of mine
to fill
the document out at some future time, but I just haven't been able
to find the
time to get to it. As a start for the doc you have, I "borrowed" the
HELP
information from ADSM itself, just as you have surmised, and added
some
appendices with what I hoped would be more useful reference
information
regarding the tables and columns available, and the supported SQL
functions.
Eventually I would like to add a little more meat to the document,
including
an improved tutorial and info on the ODBC driver. The HELP info
would either
no longer be necessary, or I'd relegate it to an appendix.
It's all a matter of trying to eke out a few more hours in the
day...
Best regards,
Andy
