Thanx for the answer Richard

And an extention of the scenario that the tapes in the Primary pool goes to a
"box" I need to have a Primary stgpool for the archiving just and not share it
with my Primary stgpool that I use with my daily backups.....

Sure - that's the nature of primary storage pools. That is, if a file is
stored by TSM, it has to be in a primary storage pool.

But what limits? If you're concerned about the number of tapes in a library,
you can simply remove full archive tapes from the library for storage in
boxes somewhere, and have TSM regard the volumes as Unavailable until you
choose to reintroduce them to the library.

Another approach might be taken at the client itself, as for example having
it simply copy archival files to a DVD-RAM or CD-R and put that into a
vault for safe keeping.
