Fred,

You're right these are not real errors. The problems happens on every
"End-of-volume" condition. I have tested the magstar cartridges and they
don't have any troubles. This problem has been in ADSM 3.1 and it's now in
TSM 3.7.3.8 too.
I upgraded my ADSM 3.1.2.42 server to TSM 3.7.3.8 this week and noticed the
same problem. I'm on AIX 4.3.3 and the atape driver version is 5.3.9.0. The
README on TSM 3.7.3.8 has a notice that atape driver have to be at least
5.3.2.0.
I have reported this one to IBM Germany and they know about this problem.
There is an open APAR IC28133 (or something like that) which will be fixed
with TSM 3.7.4.0. This version will be availble around October 18 (this
year). IBM Germany will give me a call if TSM 3.7.4.0 ist out.

Hope this helps.

Kind reagrds
Rainer

This came up a few weeks ago, but seems still unresolved. We've been
getting the messages ever since installing 3.7.3.8. Yesterday we finished
upgrading all drivers and microcode on the drives, robot, fiberchannel
adapters, and whatever else we could think of. This has reduced the number
of errors logged, but they still continue. I realize from the 3.7.3.8
README that these are not real errors, but the TEC team is using the TSM
server as it's test machine, so we are being inundated with
telalerts. Some word from Tivoli would be nice on this.
