Why not specify an EXCLUDE.DIR *:\RECYCLER in your optionsfile. I do even think
a EXCLUDE.DIR *:\RECYCLE? could be used to exclude all recycle directories on
all your local drives.

Subject: Excludes Not Working
ADSM runs on NT 4.0 SP4 at Version 3 Release 1 Level 2.30. Clients are
3.1.0.7
Here is an abbreviated list of what I see on a client's schedlog when doing
a backup:
Normal File--> 146,226 \\irvfilab\c$\Pwrchute\manuals\relnotes.pdf [Sent]
Directory--> 0
\\irvfilab\c$\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-8915387-734796150-1122644259-1065 [Sent]

I have coded all of the following excludes and do not have any includes:
Option Name Seq. Number Overridable Option Value
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------
INCLEXCL 200 No EXCLUDE *:\RECYCLER\*
INCLEXCL 210 No EXCLUDE *:\RECYCLER\*.*
INCLEXCL 270 No EXCLUDE *:\...\RECYCLER\*.*
1) If this statement were working, shouldn't the above files on
IRVFILAB be excluded?
2) If I added these excludes after the original backup, wouldn't they
be deleted once this exclude was added?
3) Is there something wrong with my excludes to cause it not be
excluded?
Thanks for any insight you might have
