Hello:

I am currently looking into unloading and reloading our TSM database. My
database has not been unloaded or reloaded since we installed ADSM in 1995,
and the database has grown from 6gb to 32 gb. My environment is a UNIX TSM
3.7.3 server running on a 7017-S80, 12 processors and 8gb of memory. We have
3590E1A tape drives inside an ATL3494, and we have multiple NT, SUN, and AIX
clients backing up to the ADSM server.

I currently do not have a test environment to test how long it would take to
unload/reload the database, and I am trying to get a feel for the length of
time it would take. Has anyone had a chance to reload/unload their
production TSM database under TSM version 3.7? If so what were the steps you
took, and were there any gotchas other than possible length of time to
perform?

Any information that anyone could provide me with regarding dsmserv unloaddb
& dsmserv reloaddb is much appreciated.

Thank You,

Monte Michael
