Hi Del,

The FIXTEST 1.1.1.01 ( IC25816_01.EXE ) is downloaded and installed  and
now,

when i try to restore a full backup,  i receive the following message:

"ACN4215E An attemp was made to open a file during a restore operation".

???

PD: Where can i see the old discussion of this forum...

Claudio,

This sounds like APAR IC25816.

The problem in IC25816 actually happens on the backup so you
must apply this fixtest BEFORE you take a backup in order for
it to be effective. In other words, if this is the problem,
you won't be able to apply this fix and restore the database
that you are having trouble with below.
(By the way, for your database below...if you have an
incremental or differential backup that you took after the
full backup, you can restore it with the full and it should work fine.)

You can look at further discussion of this issue in earlier
appends to this forum in the January 2000 timeframe.

Hi, I have the following configuration:

- At the client machine:
     TDP for MS-Exchange 1.1.1
     Windows NT 4.0 SP4
     MS- Exchange Server 5.5 SP3
     (NO Circular Logging Mode)

- TSM Server 3.7.3 on Windows NT4.0 SP6

- TCP/IP Communication.

- I perform a FULL Restore for a "DIRECTORY" and "INFORMATION STORE" (with
overwrite log files) and later, i can't start the Exchange Services again.

Then, i perform a "Integrity Check for the database" and these are thew
result:

I)
E:\exchsrvr\MDBDATA>eseutil /g pub.edb
....
Operation Completed Successfully.....

II)
E:\exchsrvr\DSADATA>eseutil /g dir.edb
....
Operation Completed Successfully.....

III)
E:\exchsrvr\MDBDATA>eseutil /g priv.edb
....
Operation terminated with error -1206 (JET_errDatabaseCorrupted, non-db
file or corrupted db) after .........


Anybody know this problem ?.
