Greetings,
I have a customer who has both Mumps and Progress databases on
RS/6000s, and is planning to implement TSM. They are trying to avoid
taking the databases down to perform the backups. Has anyone
implemented a clever way to effect a legitimate backup of these
databases using TSM without taking the database down?
One strategy was to use the Flash Copy technology on the Enterprise
Storage Server where the data resides, but that is still not available
from IBM. I don't know how long we will be waiting for it, either, and
the customer would like a legitmate strategy for now.
Any advice?
