It seems that Adobe has no Linux versions of modern Reader: according to http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/tech-specs.html there are no X and XI for Linux. May be it is not safe to use 9.5.5 on Linux because of low security (http://www.h-online.com/open/news/item/Google-warns-of-using-Adobe-Reader-particularly-on-Linux-1668153.html).
I have had some problems with PDF Portfolio files. I viewed them in Adobe Reader X (or XI, I do not remember exactly) installed to Wine. Adobe Reader works normally on Wine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Adobe, which is subscribed to adobe-isv. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1176131 Title: Please add Acroread package to the Partner repository for Ubuntu Saucy and Trusty Status in Canonical and Adobe collaboration project: Confirmed Status in “acroread” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Please add 'acroread' package to the Partner repository for Ubuntu Saucy and Trusty. lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch) Release: 14.04 apt-cache policy acroread acroread: Installed: 9.5.5-1raring1 Candidate: 9.5.5-1raring1 Version table: *** 9.5.5-1raring1 0 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status What is expected to happen in a new install of either Xubuntu Saucy or Trusty, is acroread is available once the Partner repository is enabled.
