Not sure about Iota, but Alpha as an architecture name is a likely source of confusion that would be nice to avoid.

How easy to mistake an alpha release as a release for Alpha?  Not to metion alpha releases for Alpha...

It makes me wonder what the conversations would be like if the company Alpha had released their earlier database product (Alpha Four) for the Alpha architecture... an alpha of Alpha Four for Alpha?
