On boot this showed up: nusb/ether: a179linkup: no link nusb/ether: a88179 init failed: It seems that the one I got is defective. I tested the card on a Windows machine, and Windows also says "Network cable unplugged", although I'm sure I plugged the cable in, connected to a router. Here's the result of usbtree: ep15.0: 255 csp 0x00ffff vid 0x0b95 did 0x1790 'ASIX Elec. Corp.' AX88179 118ae xhci I'll try to get another one and see if that works.
