I sometimes do a (repeated) search/replace on a single character, for example

/`/
c/‘/

The above are applied using chording, with an Edit in the relevant
window; the search/replace is split into two separate commands so I
can check the instances.

But depending on the width of the character searched for and the light
conditions, I may find myself spending too much time trying to see
where in the window the highlighted character found by /`/ actually
is.

Appending -+ to the search will highlight the whole line instead; and
prepending x/`/ to the replacement command will then replace the
instance found on that line.

/`/-+
x/`/c/‘/
