thanks for trying. you can change boot vars from the keyboard. e.g. (type everything but the tab) a *nomp=0 a *nousbehci= unfortunately that first one doesn't work, since mp isn't built into that kernel. a few questions: - what kind of machine is it? - do you happen to have a screenshot? also, - does this machine have a ps2 keyboard or serial? if so, does it respond to keys or ^T^T sequences? normally the easiest way to debug this is to pxe boot with various printing junk in the kernel till you've found it. - erik
