/dev/user says the correct user. I've tried logging in with both my username and glenda and both have the same problem. When I try to mkdir /tmp as it's completely missing, i get the error with 'mounted directory forbids creation.' The bind command fails because /tmp is not there; I made a mistake with my original question. -- Burton Samograd
