I'm not sure I've tried with gmail, I think I did, but a long time ago.
Otherwise it's pretty simple:

cd src/cmd/upas/nfs
mk install
factotum
factotum -g 'key=somekey proto=pass service=imap
server=some.imap.server.com user=your_username !password?'
(it will ask for the pass you want to store for that key)
mailfs -t some.imap.server.com
in acme, button-2 exec on Mail -s
