I've only had a little interaction with the Glendix folks, and know little more than it supposedly supports Plan 9's binaries at the kernel, as you say at least some basic way. I did get some feedback that my glendix-sources ebuild (on the Gentoo-Sunrise overlay) worked out of the box. What I do know is the main mover/shakers (at least as the GSoC is concerned) cannot function as mentors, even though Gentoo has it listed on their ideas page -- I need to contact Gentoo about that and make sure everyone is on the same page. That being said it is rather easy for me to support the glendix kernel and plan9 ebuilds once polished up. It was simply some of the background/getting-ready work for applying to this years GSoC.
