i would say that's likely a bug, and it's not true in my current driver. it's a shame that geoff hasn't picked up the newer stuff. my current versions are /n/sources/contrib/quanstro/root/sys/src/9/pc/sdiahci.c /n/sources/contrib/quanstro/root/sys/src/boot/pc-e820/sdiahci.c - erik
