It would be easy to say that list should be divided, in practice though, I'm not sure the folks who I would like to have a privilege of addressing would voluntarily subscribe to the #3 type of list.
Being a curious sometime user I guess I fall in category 3. Which seems natural since the list is called "9fans" not "plan9-dev." Not sure our community is large enough to survive being partitioned off into little tiny segments.
