Java is too many things. Strictly speaking, a sane implementation of JVM running natively on Plan9 could be a good thing. I'm not sure whether Sun's JVM would be a managable thing to port, but long time ago in another life I've seen a really good attempt at [re]implementing JVM by some guys from Finland.
