If you look at the context you'll see this wasn't an insult at all: I wrote
"out of the field with respect to [something]." That means you seem to now
know about [something], and that's more or less correct because you've been
using netfilter but not knowing at all about it.
Anyhow, if you feel offended I think an apology would be proper. I am sorry.
